nascondere, ciò che il governa pensa di ignorare: la nostra forza collettiva esiste, è viva e quando decide di muoversi fa tremare i palazzi. Dopo gli immensi scioperi del 22 settembre e del 3 ottobre abbiamo riempito ancora le piazze:

Il 28 novembre, con lo sciopero generale, migliaia di lavoratrici e lavoratori hanno mandato un messaggio inequivocabile: non siamo carne da macello per i profitti, non siamo ingranaggi da spremere e poi buttare.

Abbiamo fermato interi settori, bloccato la normalità fatta di salari indecenti, precarietà programmata, appalti al ribasso, servizi pubblici devastati da anni di tagli e privatizzazioni.

E abbiamo detto NO, con la massima chiarezza, a un modello di sistema che taglia scuole e ospedali per alimentare l’economia di guerra. Un governo, oggi come ieri, che trova sempre miliardi per armi, missioni militari e riarmo, mentre pretende sacrifici infiniti da chi lavora.

USB lo ha detto chiaro e forte costruendo una piattaforma e un percorso di lotta per i diritti, la giustizia sociale, la pace.

Il 29 novembre, la manifestazione nazionale ha confermato quello che tutti hanno visto: una marea enorme, determinata, arrabbiata, consapevole.

Lavoratori, disoccupati, studenti, precari, migranti: insieme, nella stessa lotta, nello stesso fronte.

La divisione artificiale tra chi studia e chi produce è caduta: oggi sappiamo che il futuro si difende solo uniti.

Nelle piazze è risuonata forte una verità che nessuno potrà cancellare:

la nostra solidarietà è internazionale e senza compromessi.

Abbiamo marciato anche per il popolo palestinese, contro il genocidio, un popolo sotto attacco, vittima di bombardamenti, assedio e pulizia etnica da oltre 70 anni. Abbiamo portato la nostra voce contro ogni complicità nel genocidio, contro il silenzio complice dei governi europei, contro chi usa le guerre per rafforzare il profitto e reprimere i diritti.

Non abbiamo parlato per metafore:

– salari veri, non mance;

– fine del lavoro povero e della precarietà strutturale;

– stop alle privatizzazioni, ripubblicizzazione dei servizi essenziali;

– basta miliardi per armi e riarmo: soldi alla scuola, alla sanità, ai trasporti;

– solidarietà militante internazionale: Palestina libera.

La partecipazione enorme di queste due giornate dice una cosa semplice:

le lavoratrici e i lavoratori, i giovani, il popolo che loro vogliono – pacificato, ricattato, obbediente, schiavo – non esiste più.

USB ringrazia tutte e tutti coloro che hanno costruito questo risultato gigantesco.

E diciamo con la stessa forza: non ci fermeremo.

La lotta riparte da qui, più larga, più organizzata, più radicale.

28 and 29 november: We shouted it loud and clear. Something happened

The days of 28 and 29 November showed everyone what the media are trying to hide, what the government thinks it can ignore: our collective strength exists, it is alive, and when it decides to move, it makes the halls of power tremble.

After the huge strikes on 22 September and 3 October, we filled the squares again:

On 28 November, with the general strike, thousands of workers sent an unequivocal message: we are not cannon fodder for profits, we are not cogs to be squeezed and then thrown away.

We brought entire sectors to a halt, blocking the normality of indecent wages, planned precariousness, low-cost contracts, and public services devastated by years of cuts and privatisation.

And we said NO, in the clearest possible terms, to a model of society that cuts schools and hospitals to feed the war economy. A government, today as yesterday, that always finds billions for weapons, military missions and rearmament, while demanding endless sacrifices from those who work.

USB has said this loud and clear by building a platform and a path of struggle for rights, social justice and peace.

On 29 November, the national demonstration confirmed what everyone saw: a huge, determined, angry, aware crowd.

Workers, unemployed people, students, precarious workers, migrants: together, in the same struggle, on the same front.

The artificial division between those who study and those who produce has fallen: today we know that the future can only be defended by standing together.

A truth that no one can erase resounded loudly in the streets:

our solidarity is international and uncompromising.

We also marched for the Palestinian people, against genocide, a people under attack, victims of bombing, siege and ethnic cleansing for over 70 years. We raised our voices against all complicity in genocide, against the complicit silence of European governments, against those who use wars to increase profits and repress rights.

We did not speak in metaphors:

– real wages, not tips;

– an end to poor working conditions and structural precariousness;

– stop privatisation, re-nationalise essential services;

– no more billions for arms and rearmament: money for schools, healthcare and transport;

– militant international solidarity: free Palestine.

The huge turnout over these two days says one simple thing:

the workers, the young people, the people they want – pacified, blackmailed, obedient, enslaved – no longer exist.

USB thanks everyone who contributed to this huge result.

And we say with the same force: we will not stop.

The struggle starts again from here, broader, more organised, more radical.
